My Wild Style Life
Hey all!
I am so stoked to finally share all of this with you... it has been a long time coming! There has always been a part of me that wanted to create something from nothing - something that is truly my own - but I never had the guts to take the first step to make it happen. A few months ago I took the leap and I am so happy that I did.
A little bit about me, my vision and my experience so far:
My name is Kendall, I am 23 years old and I have no idea where the heck I am headed in life! What I do know is that I am really passionate about design and merchandising so I genuinely enjoy every aspect that goes into creating and maintaining all of this and I hope you all will enjoy the result of my efforts. My biggest hesitation in starting this was what other people would think of me or expect from me and whether or not it would be successful. I have realized that even up until this point, while I sit here writing this before the store has even launched, that I have been successful. I have put myself out there, asked for help, figured things out on my own, stepped out of my comfort zone, made big decisions and learned to trust my instincts - all of which will help me carry this out further if it succeeds or challenge myself with something else.
I am also a huge advocate of girls supporting one another more and comparing themselves to others less. By comparing myself to other people and their successes I almost robbed myself of this amazing learning experience. I almost let myself be intimidated out of chasing my own goals...what?!! To me this is not just a clothing website, but a place for girls to be inspired to be comfortable in their own skin, to enjoy themselves, and to go after what they want. Whether you get that vibe from the photos, the blog posts, interacting with other girls, or wearing the clothes, I just hope that message reaches you in some way.
For me, the greatest thing that has come from all of this so far is a feeling I had on the day of the first Wild Style photoshoot. I was in this incredible studio surrounded by people that were genuinely excited to be a part of it all and while I was helping girls get dressed and piecing together how I wanted the photos to look I could not stop smiling. Rarely have I ever felt like I was in the right place doing the right thing but in that moment I felt so strongly that I was. Loved ones, friends, and people I barely knew were all in one place to support me and to have fun and that was a pretty incredible thing. I continue to learn that the more you put yourself out there, the more opportunities you get to have that feeling. I hope to have many, many more of those moments and to encourage other girls to go after what makes them feel more themselves.
Thank you to everyone who was stepped into this world with me and to those who have shown such love and support! It keeps me going in a direction I'm really, really excited about!
